What do inspiration and golf have in common?

Golf is my husband’s passion … ergo, it is also a favourite activity of mine even though my game is much less than stellar than his. A few days ago, we had the good fortune to play at Cabot Links, which is located on Canada’s Cape Breton Island, a place of rugged beauty and stunning views.

This round of golf coincided with the main character of my latest manuscript being trapped in a cottage on the ocean near Plymouth, Massachusetts. My characters are always in the back of my mind so as I was walking from tee to tee, I became more and more excited. Each view gave me a new idea.

I’m not sure how I will incorporate all these into the story, but I’m convinced they will change it!

  1. I love that. My very, very first lines for my series came from a walk in the mountains with a friend’s dog. Five years later, when I sat down to start writing the books, I did not change it.
