My name is Mary Tod writing under the pen name M.K. Tod. Why a pen name? Try introducing yourself to Americans as Mary Tod. You will find that most will immediately respond with “Mary Todd Lincoln.” You will also find that Google corrects Mary Tod to Mary Todd and delivers links to millions of places where you can find out about Abraham Lincoln’s wife. Since my middle name is Kathleen, I became M.K. Tod.
