Unravelled – on France Book Tours

Screen Shot 2013-11-03 at 10.28.57 AMFrance Book Tours is run by the delightful Emma Cazabonne. In this world of Facebook friends, Twitter followers, blogs and other social media, it’s not always easy to remember when you meet someone, however, I’m fairly certain Emma and I connected one day when she left a comment on A Writer of History.

So much of Unravelled’s first blog tour included guest posts written by yours truly, which meant that the pace was VERY hectic so I am looking forward to being in Emma’s hands for the next ten days.

Why tour again? Since Unravelled covers the impact of both WWI and WWII, I feel that touring during the period surrounding November 11th – Remembrance Day – is a very fitting way to honour our veterans.

I hope you agree. Here’s the line up at France Book Tours.

All are book reviews with giveaways, but I will also be interviewed at The Good Life France and Flashlight Commentary and I’m guest posting at Jorie Loves a Story.

Many thanks, Emma. I’m really looking forward to touring with you!

Last stop on the blog tour is at Genuine Jenn’s

Unravelled Blog TourWow, what a whirlwind. And what an exciting time!

Today Jenn Annis guest posts at Genuine Jenn with a review of Unravelled. Her comments are a great note to end on.

As a historian, I’m always wary about historical fiction, especially books set in my field of study.  That said, I was thrilled when a piece of historical fiction goes above and beyond my expectations.  That is what happened with Unravelled.  The book drew me in from the first page and didn’t let me go until the end. The writing was superb, the characters engaging, and the history sound.  The title intrigued me as many a marriage didn’t survive the war or its after effects. This isn’t a light read but it is well worth the emotional investment, especially for anyone at all interested into the more personal side effects of war.

Check out the review and Genuine Jenn‘s popular site where there are giveaways and topics like books, family life, get fit and more. Thank you Jenn Annis and Genuine Jenn.

Unravelled Blog Tour – Let Them Read Books

Unravelled Blog TourI’m delighted to be at Jenny Quinlan‘s book blog today – Let Them Read Books – with a giveaway and my story of becoming a writer. Jenny is the wonderful woman who edited Unravelled and designed the cover. So many people have said they LOVE the cover that I have lost count! It will come as no surprise that I have already asked her to edit my next novel which I hope to have out in March 2014.

Here’s the opening few sentences:

Summer 2004 changed my life. In July of that year, my husband’s firm asked him to consider a three-year assignment to Hong Kong. We hesitated only long enough to consult with our children and mothers, then plunged into planning a move, riding the waves of euphoria for the next few months. Everything seemed full of possibilities…
