40 Shades of Green

No, this is not the announcement that I’m writing¬†an erotic novel ūüôā Rather it is an ode to Ireland with special mention of Ireland Walk Hike Bike – the folks who made not one but two trips to Ireland so memorable.

In 2012 my husband and I enjoyed ten days of hiking and golfing in the beautiful surroundings of Ireland’s southwest region and the Dingle peninsula. From Blasket Islands to intimate Irish pubs and golf amidst breathtaking settings,¬†we enjoyed the green landscape and hospitality of Ireland. Yes, we had rain but sunshine invariably followed making the land even more entrancing. Yes, hiking was tiring but there was always a nearby pub to¬†offer refreshment.

Forty¬†shades of green is what our 2016 host Maurice of Ireland Walk Hike Bike told me. I had mistakenly said thirty, clearly an understatement of Ireland’s charms! On this occasion we travelled primarily to golf with three other couples. Imagine the logistics of all those suitcases, golf bags and people to coordinate – it went off without a hitch. Tralee, Ballybunnion, Waterville, Old Head, Royal County Down and The Island Golf Club were our ports of call, but beyond golf, this second trip also included charming hotels, delicious meals, beautiful scenery and warm hospitality.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit Ireland, I encourage you to do so. And if you’re searching for right company to organize it all for you, choose Ireland Walk Hike Bike.

Who knows, I might write a novel set in Ireland’s turbulent history. There’s certainly a lot of material choose from and an excuse for another trip!
